Pump It

Today I ventured into the world of weight training - don't panic - it just means that the young yet handsome gym instructor took me through a program at the gym using weights. I did the program today with some added cardio and man I am exhausted, who knew that lifting some boring heavy things could tire me out so much. I am going to give it a good red hot go tho as I want to see some results - watch out, there may just be a world title coming my way.

Uh Oh.....

I bought these pencils off ETSY today. kind of stumbled across them whilst lost deep down in blog world. It is my first ETSY purchase and I loved it, so simple, in fact too simple with paypal. I am feeling a little homesick (if I can call it that) for NYC so these pencils will make me happy for a minute. The world of ETSY awaits me.

I know I have too mnay stripes in my wardrobe and I know that stripes are meant to make me look bigger but I love love love this new dress from Ben Sherman. I might dare to try it on....

Swimming living

Way to go HSBC (British banking giant) - they lined a pool with an image of New York City - looking down onto the city so it is like swimming above a flooded city. They are making a point about climate change. Lets hope it never happens but it would be errie and kind of cool to swim in it.

Daily outfit

I was going to post my daily outfit today as I have not really done that for a long time - then I realised I am wearing the same thing that I have already posted (back on 30/03/09). Glad to see I am still loving this Ben Sherman shirt and that I do wear what is in my wardrobe.. sometimes I wonder. xx

Green with envy

So once again (third year running) I have put myself in the US green card lottery..... gotta be in it to win it and god knows I want to win it. Cross fingers until May next year when the results are in.

PS. I have never seen this movie.. I think that is a good thing.

Shiny Shiny

My bestie and I got these cute as a button flats in NYC - I gotta say I wear them at least 3 times a week to work - with and without opaques. I love love love....

Pretty

It is nice to feel pretty on a Monday morning - so with a little help from Sportsgirl sale stock I am feeling pretty. The shoulders actually have tulle in them that act as shoulder pads but look softer and more feminine.

Checkmate

A new addition to the summer wardrobe - pink and black check pleated swing top by 'little old lady from' - a steal from the local op shop. Just need the sun to come through those dark clouds now.

If i was a richman...

I stupidly tried on these little numbers at French Connection last week - I want a jumper and I want the dress but unfortunately the price tag does not suite my lifestyle. Why do I do this to myself. The dress is so flirty and cute and the jumper is soft and the puffy sleeve is just right.....where is my rich man??

My weekend wandering

The weekend started with some daughter of the year time - took my parents to Sth Melbourne Market followed by lunch at the Shanghai Dumpling Restaurant - my dad gave it an OK - but I know he was just being polite.
Of course my mother loved it "Never in my wildest dreams would I have come in here"

Once they were safely dropped home I went straight to my local for a glass of red in front of the open fire with the newspapers.

Sunday meant washing! I had the laundromat to myself for most of the hour I spent there. Worried me at first but I just sat close to the door.

It is a really typical laundromat - dirty, dingy and grungy - not what I expect for Prahran

I use it as my sitting still time - I grab a DC and the paper and I am set for an hour - plus it is really warm in there.

I like that the dryers are named speed queens - and that they are!

I topped off the weekend by buying myself an inexpensive BONDS hoodie - the attraction is the fluro pink zip - I am really loveing fluro pink at the moment.... please stop me if you see me in bike shorts and mood tshirts any time soon.

Working Girl

Today is my three year anniversary at my place of work - pretty amazing for me, the longest I have stayed anywhere in the last 10 years has been 2 years.

I could not say I love my job, I can say that I tolerate it as there are lots of benefits from working where I do. I certainly would not say I have a career or say I feel driven in my work, I simply have a job that pays what I need, has good working hours and I rarely think about work when I walk out the door.

I do feel lucky though to be here, lots of worse places I could be working.

Cheap and Cheerful

Last nite I turned these humble ingredients into a meal fit for a queen

I estimate that this meal cost me about $2.00 per serve to make - gave one serve to my sister who was very grateful.

In my younger days I would never have eaten tuna pasta - but now it is one of my staple meals and even better - for those in the know -3.5points. xox

A long weekend

I had some well deserved R'n'R this weekend, took a break from the dating world and just hung out with myself.

Painted my toe nails a new 'neon pink' color

Wore my rubi shoes cute as a bow flats for the first time - love love

Got a present from a girl friend who dropped by - just delicious!

Found a vintage leather (yes real leather) jacket at an opshop that I was not sure about getting but I am so glad I did - worked it yesterday and I loved it- warm as toast and I felt vintage cool glam.

Also thought about my bestie a lot - I miss her. xox

Oh so Tired.........

Work and life have got to me......need a break so taking Monday off from work and life as I know it. Might start by taking myself off to breakfast.... just gotta get thru the next few days.

I received this dress in the mail yesterday - took a chance and purchased it off ebay. It is a Zac Posen for Target dress - I dont remember seeing it when it was out.... I am in love with it.. it is so beautiful and the fabric is just perfect. Possibly my best purchase ever. Cant wait to wear it out on a date.
